History of Jake’s Bike Shop
Jake’s Bike Shop was started in 1957 on the west side of Manchester in
the area now known has Rimmon heights or know by some as the French Quarter by
“Old Man Jake”, after 40 years of passing the torch on to Guy St. Germaine.
Guy carried Jake’s into the 21st century by introducing Street, Mountain,
Free-ride and Downhill bikes into the Manchester scene while at the same time
maintaining that friendly down to earth service Jake’s is know for. After
dozen years of dedicated service Guy sold Jake’s Bike Shop to its current
owners who have been very successful in the family bike business since the
early 1990’s.
Since being in the “Family” bike business, they saw the opportunity to enter
the Manchester bike scene which they have been personally involved for years
so they decided to purchase Jake’s Bike Shop. With the realization that the
Jake’s cycling community has different wants and needs, they have been very
focused on continuing the reputation of the down to earth service and the high
quality products that were always know at Jake’s Bike Shop.
We would like to welcome the newest member and Manager of our team, Ryan
Moraros. He is a passionate and committed Cyclist who rides his bike everywhere,
just look for the Dude riding the bike with the green wheels. Ryan is clearly
dedicated to the sport of cycling and the future vision of Jake’s Bike Shop.
If you would like to know more about Ryan stop by the store and say hi.
